Common reasons people reach out
“My mum died suddenly and I can’t sleep.”
“My marriage ended and I don’t know who I am anymore.”
“An injury ended my sporting career; I feel empty.”
“Work is traumatic and I can’t switch off.”

My mission as Patron is to ensure that support is accessible, understood, and embraced, helping every bereaved heart find its way toward the light.
Grief is a landscape no one chooses to walk, yet it is a journey we will all face at some point in our lives. It is the universal tax on love.
My own path into this territory began on a Tuesday morning in June 2023, when my son Barnaby was taken in the Nottingham attacks. In an instant, the life I knew was dismantled, and I was forced to navigate a catastrophic trauma under a very public spotlight.
What I have learned in the years since is that while my story hit the headlines, grief and loss come in many forms. Whether it is the sudden shock of a tragedy, the long goodbye of a terminal illness, or the quiet ache of a life-changing transition, the weight of it can feel impossible to carry alone. We often mistake "getting on with it" for strength, but I’ve found that true bravery lies in the vulnerability of reaching out.
I am incredibly proud to become a Patron for the National Grief Advice Service. My journey has taught me that while grief is a deeply personal experience, healing cannot happen in a vacuum. Getting the right help and professional support isn't a sign of weakness; it is a vital lifeline. It provides the tools to process the unthinkable and helps bridge the gap between simply surviving and eventually finding a way to carry your loss with purpose.
No one should have to shoulder the heaviest moments of their life in silence.

We are proud to introduce "Growing Around Grief," a compassionate and supportive initiative under the National Grief Advice Service (NGAS), a registered charity dedicated to providing essential services for those experiencing grief and loss. Our new Grief Wellbeing Centre, located in Grantham at The Maltings, Wharf Road, is designed to be a safe, welcoming environment where individuals and families can come together to heal, share, and support one another during some of life’s toughest moments.

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.”

We've partnered with Memoria who provide exceptional standards of service, facility and products to the bereaved families that use its funeral directing services, crematoria, cemeteries gardens of remembrance, or prepaid funeral plans.
Memoria has developed, over the last decade, to become the leading crematorium operator and a by-word for excellence in the provision of standards of service and facility.
Their fourteen crematoria and memorial parks make up Memoria’s Cremation & Burial Division. Today, Memoria boasts three divisions – Funeral Division, Cremation & Burial Division, and Prepaid Funeral Plans. All divisions cover all of mainland Britain.
